Today you will learn how to add/embed a SlideShare presentation on your website. Specifically, you will create this SlideShare Live Sample. Using SlideShare is an excellent way to present yourself/ your thoughts/ your creative ideas on your website. Very few Virtual Assistants currently use SlideShare on their websites. Use it and gain a competitive edge over your competitors!

III. How to Add SlideShare to Your Website

2 STEPS|Adding a SlideShare presentation to your website is very easy to do. Simply upload your presentation and paste the SlideShare embed code on your website. For this example we are using GoDaddy’s Website Tonight & HostGator’s Website Builder. But the steps are pretty much the same for other websites.

YOU NEED| a SlideShare Account & Your Own Website

• SLIDESHARE| If you don’t have one, you may sign-up here SlideShare Sign-Up.

STEP1| Upload Presentation to SlideShare

1a. Create Your SlideShare Account. Goto SlideShare.net.

• Link w/ like minded groups/individuals by clicking the follow button on their homepage.
• Don’t forget to Link with us

1b. Upload your file/s.

1c. Once upload has been completed, enter appropriate tags and description.

1d. Click on your username (upper-right-hand-corner). You should now be able to see your uploaded file/s.

1e. Click on the file you wish to embed on your website, then COPY the EMBED CODE. Don’t be intimidated by this, you will simply copy and paste this code. If you don’t have your own presentation, you may use this as your sample EDIT YOUR PHOTOS w/ PICNIK & BEFUNKY

STEP2| Paste Code into Your Website

Open your website editor  & position the cursor where you want to insert your Presentation.

2a. If you are using GODADDY WEBSITE TONIGHT| SITE – DESIGN – INSERT- SCRIPT

2b. Or, HOSTGATOR WEBSITE BUILDER| DESIGN – SCRIPT (at the right hand panel, drag the script into your page) – then click PROPERTIES

2c. Paste the SLIDESHARE EMBED CODE (i.e. Step 1e above)into the SCRIPT BOX. You may simply erase whatever is in your box when you first open it.

2d. Click PREVIEW or PUBLISH (upper right hand corner) and you should now see your SlideShare Presentation. Do note that your readers can easily share your presentations and can easily navigate/adjust to full view while watching your presentation.

2e. If you have a series of presentations, you may also create a SlideShare Playlist. For instance, you may have your Solutions, Rates & Workflow for each of your services, on one SlideShare Playlist.  Or you have a series of articles/ tutorials which you want to put in one playlist. The beauty of the playlist is that your clients can easily navigate thru your presentations without leaving the page.

2f. Goto SlideShare Playlist. Or you may scroll to the bottom of your page WIDGETS – SLIDESHARE PLAYLIST

• You may create a playlist to share even though you don’t have your own presentation. Simply type your relevant keywords in the MY TAGS section (Type Virtual Assistant, Create Website, Virtual Assistant Website, etc).

2g. COPY & PASTE SlideShare Code (i.e. 2f) into your SCRIPT BOX. You may refer back to Steps 2a-2c above. You should now see all your presentations in one SlideShare Playlist. DONE

Create your own SlideShare Presentation or Playlist now and embed it on your website. You may use your existing contents and simply repackage it using SlideShare. Or you may even use someone else’ presentation as long as they provide value to your potential clients. You may even share all our presentations to your Clients (simply type VATRAININGONLINE in your TAGS)! Good luck!
