Add an Odesk Widget to Your Own Website to Promote Yourself
Adding your Odesk widget to your website is an excellent way to promote yourself. This is especially beneficial if you already have past work experience reflected in your oDesk profile. While some Virtual Assistants may opt to work outside the constraints of Job Board Systems, some Clients do prefer to work within the safe framework of these job boards. Providing different hiring options to your Clients (especially one that they are already familiar with), will surely increase your likelihood of getting a job via your website!
2 STEPS|Adding your oDesk widget is very easy to do. Simply get the oDesk Widget Code from your profile, and then paste it on your website. For this example we are using GoDaddy’s Website Tonight & HostGator’s Website Builder. The steps are pretty much the same for other website builders.
YOU NEED| an oDesk Account & Your Own Website (i.e. GoDaddy Website Tonight or HostGator Website Builder)
- ODESK| If you don’t have an oDesk Account, you may sign-up here oDESK SIGN-UP . It is a free job board/directory for Virtual Assistants.

STEP I. Get Your Odesk Widget
1. Login to your Odesk account. If you don’t have one yet, you may easily sign-up now, for free oDESK SIGN-UP
2. Goto MY PROVIDER PROFILE
3. At the bottom right-most corner, click SPREAD THE WORD WITH HIRE ME WIDGETS
4. You will then see the different widget options. Some with photos, some just buttons.
5. Choose your preferred widget and then COPY the CODE at the right hand portion of the image. Don’t be intimated by the code. You will simply paste this into your website.
STEP 2. Add the Widget to your Website
1. GODADDY WEBSITE TONIGHT| SITE – DESIGN – INSERT- SCRIPT 
2. HOSTGATOR WEBSITE BUILDER | DESIGN – SCRIPT (at the right hand panel, drag the script into your page) – then click PROPERTIES
3. Paste the ODESK WIDGET CODE (i.e. Step 5 above)into the SCRIPT BOX. You may simply erase whatever is in your box when you first open it.
5. Click PREVIEW or PUBLISH (upper right hand corner) and you should now see your widget. Potential Clients can now easily hire you from your website, thru your oDesk account.
